TMD Spare Wheel carrier

This is a great product from us at TMD

Spare wheel carrier for all vehicles from 2002 to present

This is a single arm spare wheel carrier so there is no need to drill into the body as it only mounts on the X-Member & rear Door

We have found that when you fit bigger wheels the standard carriers are just not strong enough to take the extra weight thus meaning they break and you get an annoying rattle

Had to get one of these and I’m really pleased with it. Solid, strong and gives a nice rugged look. As mentioned in the description, there is no drilling required in the body of the Defender so this can be removed without leaving horrible drill holes. It takes my 18″ Nemesis spare wheel without any problem and sets it at a nice useable height to see out the rear window and it doesn’t block the rear windscreen wiper either. Happy days. Well done again TMDTuning, I keep returning to you guys because you do it right. Thanks

After having this fitted to my 110 PUMA, I have to say “wow” it’s sturdy, strong, looks awesome, only attaches to crossmember so no body work drilling or flexing.. Truly worth every penny, love it. Thanks Ben

Fitted one last weekend, the instructions are awful and not what I expect from a company like TMD, a photocopy of a magazine page is not a step by step guide. The kit itself is good, nice quality and good engineering. As for the non drilling, that is a slight misnoma, 4 existing holes have to be enlarged to 16mm to take the strengthening tubes (not a biggy) so its not just a bolt on solution.

Thanks for the feedback, As per the description, there is no body drilling, like on other wheel carriers, you do need to drill the chassis to strengthen it. I will have a look at creating some better instructions.

Although instructions were limited, the product itself still deserves a 5 star rating. Love the way it looks and how the spare wheel now sits with the weight all on the crossmember and no drilling needed on the body. Really strong, sturdy and most importantly durable looking bit of kit, very happy!
